Spikes are a common level hazard in the BOXBOY! franchise, appearing in every game. They kill the player upon contact but can be shielded against by using boxes. If Qbby touches a spike, it teleports him back to the nearest previous checkpoint in the level (which is often the platform directly before the spikes).
