As of now, the Fandom wiki is officially considered obsolete by its admins, and we do not intend to edit it further. We encourage you to only visit or edit the new wiki going forward. Hiya! Today's the 10th anniversary of the original BOXBOY! game, and we have a special announcement to make. After almost 10 years of operation on Fandom (originally Wikia), the BOXBOY WIKI! staff have unanimously decided to establish a new, independent wiki.

This decision was made in light of semi-recent controversy surrounding our original host, Fandom. Fandom has been criticized in recent years due to some poor decisions, such as placing intrusive ads throughout the website, forcing every user to confirm their age, and adding Fandom-branded buttons throughout the wiki that don't have anything to do with the site. Unlike Wikipedia, Fandom is a company, and naturally that means they're going to go for the business strategy that generates them profit. But the BOXBOY WIKI! isn't trying to generate revenue, we're just a fun project. Hence our decision to fork.

We are grateful to have received an offer from SuperHamster to host the new wiki. He is co-director of Nookipedia, develops the Indie Wiki Buddy browser extension, and is an administrator at the Nintendo Independent Wiki Alliance (which we hope to join when the time is right!). Needless to say, he's quite qualified for the job of running the new wiki. He has also acquired us a very nice and easy-to-remember domain name: boxboy.wiki. PanchamBro has also been brought on board to help design themes for the wiki. Everyone else on the BOXBOY WIKI! staff will keep their positions as admins/bureaucrats of the new BOXBOY WIKI!.

Unfortunately, Fandom does not close wikis that have moved onto other sites. It's up to you whether you choose to use the new wiki or keep using the Fandom one, but because every admin has decided to use the new wiki, the Fandom wiki is basically going to be a ghost town going forward. We hope to see you at our new home at https://boxboy.wiki/.
