The BOXBOY! 2.5th Anniversary was a celebration of the BOXBOY series' 2.5th anniversary that took place during October of 2017 which included the release of a Nintendo 3DS theme and all three games in the trilogy going on sale for 25% off. The event was meant to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek, as around the same time, the Kirby series, a far more well-known game series also developed by HAL Laboratory, was celebrating its 25th anniversary.[1]
