The BOXBOY! 2.5th Anniversary celebrations took place during October of 2017. The celebrations featured the release of a Nintendo 3DS theme and all three games in the BOXBOY! trilogy going on sale for 25% off. The event was intended to be tongue-in-cheek in nature, as around the same time, the Kirby series (also developed by HAL Laboratory) was celebrating its 25th anniversary, an arguably more notable milestone.[1]
