Version 1.0.1 is a free patch released for BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL! on April 25th, 2019, one day before the launch of the game. It does not contain any new levels, and is meant to resolve performance issues.
Changes
The update's official description from Nintendo reads, "Several issues have been fixed to improve gameplay experience." The patch is intended to optimize the game's performance, which was frequently criticized by critics reviewing the game before its release. Frame drops occur less frequently than the original version with this patch installed, but the frame rate may still drop in graphics-intensive areas or larger levels.
