BOXBOY! Series Demo Version, sometimes called BOXBOY! Series, is a free downloadable demo game released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2017 alongside the launch of BYE-BYE BOXBOY!. It contains a small sample of various levels from BOXBOY!, BOXBOXBOY!, and BYE-BYE BOXBOY!.

Notable differences between the demo and the trilogy

  • Qbby does not fall from the sky when beginning the first level of the BOXBOY! demo world.
  • When making a box, the red box chain count number uses the same font as the one from BYE-BYE BOXBOY!
  • The World Map is an incredibly simple flat plane, with no hills or bumps whatsoever.
  • Qbby is the only character to appear on the World Map.
  • The Shop only contains costumes and comics. The Costumes section contains costumes from BOXBOY!, BOXBOXBOY!, and BYE-BYE BOXBOY!, while the Comics section only contains costumes from the latter two (seeing as comics were only available online when BOXBOY! was released, and were never available in game.)
  • The demo does not support Amiibo or screen filters.
  • Like most Nintendo 3DS demo games, this game is locked behind a play count (with this game's play count being 30), upon which when the application has been launched 30 times the user is prevented from playing and is instead prompted to purchase the game from the Nintendo eShop.
