Tips and Tricks can be bought as books from the shop in BOXBOY!. Before unlocking a tip book, its description will read "Use your medals to unlock this book, and you'll be able to refer to it anytime."
In all other games in the BOXBOY! trilogy, tips and tricks are free and can be accessed from the pause menu once they are unlocked.
Book of Basics
| Picture | Title | Description |
|
Throw | Once you've made the shape you need, you can throw it. It won't go far, but that little bit can be a big help. |
|
Bridge | A bridge is just the thing you need to cross a gap or some dangerous terrain. |
|
Set Down | Once you've made the shape you need, you can set it down next to you. Don't worry-- it won't vanish. |
|
Tower | Need to hit a switch high above you? Use this technique to gain some extra reach. |
|
Low Throw | If you're standing on a ledge, you can toss your creations down over the side. |
Book of Safety

| Helmet | This basic defensive technique will protect you from hazards like lasers fired from the ceiling. | |
| Shield | A shield will protect you from harm and can be pushed along to keep you safe on the go. | |
| Helmet & Shield | With this technique, you can go about your day protected from any dangers that await above or ahead. | |
| Shielding Afro | The ultimate defence. Nothing's getting past your new 'do! | |
| Shielding Beard | While you won't be able to move, you'll be safe from dangers below or to the sides with this technique. |
Book of Hooks

| Up Hook | Need to reach a high place? Just latch onto a ledge and then pull yourself up. | |
| Detach | You can break free of your creations at any time. Keep that in mind! | |
| Front Hook | To cross a large gap, try reaching out and then hooking onto a ledge on the other side. | |
| Down Hook | You can latch onto ledges that are below you too. Reel yourself in to make it to spots a jump won't reach. | |
| Back Hook | If there's something in the air that you want to grab, try making yourself a lifeline and then taking a leap. | |
| Slide Hook | Have you ever tried sliding across a surface and then giving yourself a little boost? | |
| Shield Hook | If lasers are getting you down, try building some defenses into your hooks. |

| Stretching Snake | Thinking like a snake is handy even if you're in open spaces. A long, slender shape gives lots of reach. | |

| Shielding Snake | Combining the Shield Hook technique with snakelike movements can produce amazing results. |
