Spikies are black circles surrounded by spikes on the top with wave-like bottom.

BOXBOY!
Spiky first appears in the game's 14th World Steer Clear of Spiky. Their main purpose is to be led into gates to help Qbby progress through a level. However, they hurt Qbby when they touch him.
BOXBOXBOY!
Spiky returns in BOXBOXBOY!, reprising the same role they did in BOXBOY!. They begin appearing in the game's 8th World The Disappearing Spiky.
